This telephoto zoom lens is a part of Sigma’s Contemporary line, which combines the latest technology and high-performance optics in a relatively compact package. Although designed for full-frame cameras, the lens is also compatible with crop-sensors and offers an equivalent focal range of 240–960mm. The f/5–6.3 maximum aperture has nine rounded blades and creates beautiful bokeh in a wide range of lighting conditions.

This lens has 20 elements broken down into 14 groups. One F Low Dispersion element and three Special Low Dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing. Each has been treated with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating, which eliminates ghosting and lens flare, even in backlight or the brightest light. Your images will be sharp, color-correct, and have high contrast.

Autofocus is fast, quiet, and precise due to a combination of Sigma’s Integrated Hyper Sonic Motor and rear focus system. The AF algorithm also contributes to the smooth quality of focus by optimizing performance. You’ll have full-time manual focus whenever you want it — just turn the focus ring. An optical stabilizer reduces camera shake, so you’ll be able to get handheld shots with incredible clarity. Zoom lock ensures that your focal point will stay where you want it, and is available throughout the zoom range.

This lens is built to be in the field. Made from a Thermally-Stable Composite, it can handle most temperatures. It’s dust- and splash-resistant, and the front element repels both oil and water. The removable, rotating tripod collar allows you to pair this lens with a tripod or monopod.

The Sigma 150–600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary for Canon has a 16.4° to 4.1° angle of view, 9.19-foot minimum focusing distance, and offers 0.2x maximum magnification. When you need to extend the focal range, join it with Sigma’s TC-1401 1.4x or TC-2001 2x teleconverters. It’s compatible with 95mm front filters and Sigma’s USB Dock, which allows you to set lens characteristics and update the firmware.
