Designed for Canon crop-sensor cameras, Sigma’s 50–100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for Canon is a versatile, fast telephoto lens that performs brilliantly in low light conditions. The aperture is made from fluorine-coated polycarbonate and carbon feather film, which is responsible for its smooth performance when working fast and continuously. Nine rounded blades make it easy to get beautiful bokeh when using selective focus or shallow depth of field techniques.

The lens is constructed of 21 elements divided into 15 groups. It contains four Special Low Dispersion elements and three F Low Dispersion elements, which virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations and color fringing. A high-refractive index, high-dispersion glass element takes care of spherical aberrations. All components have been treated with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating, so lens flare and ghosting give way to high-contrast, color-correct renderings, even in the brightest and most backlit conditions.

Quiet, quick, and precise autofocus is achieved with Sigma’s Hyper Sonic Motor and optimized autofocus algorithm. Manual focus is available anytime with a simple twist of the focus ring. Combined with internal zoom and focus mechanisms, this lens is not only fast; it’s intuitive. It will give you control over every facet of your image.

Since it’s made from a thermally-stable composite, this lens can handle most temperatures. The durable brass bayonet mount provides stability while the fixed, rotating tripod collar has 90° click stops, making switching between horizontal and vertical shooting seamless.

The Sigma 50–100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for Canon has a 31.7° to 16.2° angle of view, 0.15x maximum magnification, and 3.12-foot minimum focusing distance. It’s compatible with 82mm front filters and Sigma’s USB Dock, which allows you to set lens characteristics and update the firmware.
