Sony Cyber-Shot RX0 II
The Sony Cyber-Shot RX0II is a powerful all-in-one camera that fits in the palm of your hand. Boasting a 15.3MP 1-inch CMOS stacked sensor with a dedicated dram chip and the BIONZ X processor, you won’t believe that a pocket-sized camera could create such clear, stunning images and video. It’s fast, with shutter speeds of 1/32000 of a second and the ability to shoot up to 129 stills at up to 16 fps. The RX0II makes a perfect travel companion: It’s dustproof, shockproof to 6.5 feet, crushproof to 400 pounds, and waterproof down to 33 feet. It also operates in temperatures down to freezing and up to 104°.
Containing some of the same optical qualities that define the Zeiss line of Sony lenses, the RX0II has a 7.9mm (24mm equivalent) Zeiss Tessar T* lens. It also features a maximum aperture of f/4 and an ISO range of 80– 12800, which does a decent job in low light down to EV-3. The advanced optics you’ve come to expect from Zeiss lenses are present here as well: the six elements packed into this tiny lens handle aberrations, distortions, lens flare, and ghosting, while a coating on the front of the lens makes it easy to clean. The minimum focusing distance is 7.9 inches.
This miniature camera outdoes itself during video as well. Built-in electronic image stabilization ensures that you can shoot handheld video with ease. You’ll get pro-level features such as UHD 4K30 and S-Log2 Gamma, plus the ability to send uncompressed 4:2:2 4K via HDMI when you require the sharpest, clearest frames. 1.7x more data than needed is captured in XAVC S format at up to 100 Mb/s during UHD4K, which means you’ll never need to worry about pixel binning. Furthermore, the RX0II has High Frame Rate Mode (HFR) which will allow you to capture extreme slow motion at up to 1000 fps in PAL and 960 fps in NTSC. You can also engage interval recording if you’d like to create time-lapses. Additionally, there is a built-in mic and a 3.5mm microphone input that gives you the option to record professional- quality audio whenever you’d like, in Dolby Digital AC3 LPCM.
The display is an impressive size, considering that the body is only 2.3 inches wide. The 1.5-inch, 230k-dot, 180° tilting LCD has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and makes shooting from practically any angle a breeze, especially when vlogging or taking selfies. Get more from your self-documentation by using the self-timer and optional VCT-SGR1 remote control.
The Sony Cyber-Shot RX0II has a lithium-ion battery pack that’s chargeable via USB. It’s also Bluetooth and WiFi-enabled, making sharing your photos and videos seamless.
